Visit Our Ford Dealer For Your Diesel Service & Auto Repair Needs

Many drivers and businesses use diesel-powered vehicles to complete their heavy-duty tasks. However, not every service center or auto repair shop is equipped to handle maintenance on these complex engines. That’s where our Ford dealer comes in. The service center at Cook Ford knows the ins and outs of vehicles that use diesel engines—such as the Ford F-350 or the first-ever diesel-powered Ford F-150, which debuted in 2019.

Below, we’ll outline some of the differences that occur in diesel service as opposed to traditional gasoline service. Once you’re well-informed, make sure to schedule your appointment online under the “Service & Parts” tab on our website or over the phone at 855-979-0115.

Oil Change Service

Traditional gas-powered vehicles typically need an oil change every 3,000 to 5,000 miles—or every 3 to 6 months—whichever comes first. However, diesel engines can last quite a bit longer. The length of time between each oil change service will depend on what kind of strain you’re putting on your vehicle’s engine.

If you mainly drive in normal conditions, then your diesel engine may only need to undergo oil change service every 7,500 to 10,000 miles—or at least once per year. If you do a decent amount of towing, these figures should be adjusted to 5,000 to 7,000 miles—or every 6 months. However, if you need your vehicle to take on heavy-duty towing, then you may want to stick to the traditional 3,000- to 5,000-mile interval.

Keep in mind, these are just rough figures and may not necessarily reflect the needs for your specific model. Our Ford dealer suggests checking your owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s suggested oil change service recommendations for your exact vehicle.

Other Differences In Diesel Service

Many vehicles suffer problems due to the spark plugs becoming compromised or failing. Thankfully, that’s not the case with diesel engines as they don’t have spark plugs at all. Instead, diesel engines use a more reliable compression system.

Because of the major component differences, you won’t want to trust your diesel service to just any technician. You’ll want to trust the experts. Our team of technicians has been specifically trained to work on these unique powertrains as well as gas-powered engines, so you can have peace of mind that your service has been performed correctly the first time.

Services We Perform
